This original mixed-media work emerged from a mindful walk on Country — I felt every step in my heart space as I noticed and absorbed what was around me.
Returning to the studio, I began expressing the felt sense through a familiar form of the eucalyptus leaf, exploring its shape, tone and texture through layers of paint and chalk. Rather than working towards a predetermined image, I allowed my heart to guide the process.
I felt compelled to drop water onto the layers of chalk & paint, where an heart form appeared organically.
Pure Heart’ reminds us to feel what moves us — the unexpected moments that open our hearts.
